The report is published there. The following text is a summary.

Children today are growing up in a rapidly changing world where digital media plays a significant role in their daily lives. Digital services can be used to learn, be entertained, stay informed, make new discoveries, and communicate with peers and members of the community. However, they are not without their dangers, such as problematic or excessive use of digital media, exposure to inappropriate content, risky behaviors, and threats to online safety.

This abridged version presents the main findings of the report entitled How's Life for Children in the Digital Age? This report, drawing on the latest international data, paints a broad picture of children's lives in the digital environment across OECD countries. It reveals the challenges of simultaneously protecting children from digital media and empowering them to use these media effectively and independently, while also mitigating potential risks. The report emphasizes the need for a comprehensive, multi-sectoral policy approach involving digital service providers, healthcare professionals, educators, experts, parents, and children themselves to protect, empower, and support children, while addressing offline vulnerabilities, with the ultimate goal of improving their well-being and future prospects. Furthermore, it calls for strengthening countries' capacity to assess the impact of digital media on children's lives and to monitor the rapidly evolving challenges.
